Рассчитанная на 20 лет политика в области рыболовства, согласованная между странами-членами Европейского сообщества (ЕС) в 1983 г. Она устанавливает верхние пределы вылова рыбы основных пород, 12-мильную эксклюзивную зону рыболовства для каждого государства и зону равного доступа протяженностью 200 морских миль от побережья стран ЕС, в которой может заниматься рыболовством любая из стран-членов Сообщества. Существует также несколько исключений из этих правил.

It was agreed between members of the European Community in 1983. It lays down annual catch limits for major species of fish, a 12-mile exclusive fishing zone for each state, and an equal-access zone of 200 nautical miles from its coast within which any member state is allowed to fish.
